Who is Merci
Introducing Detroit’s best kept secret – Merci, the talented, pop rock-soul savvy, female solo singer/songwriter.

Merci was born and raised on Detroit’s eastside. It was around age 8 when she found her calling – she became the lead singer in her youth choir at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Her spiritual upbringing helped her enhance and hone her musical gift and eventually she began winning numerous talent shows.

Her musical talent crosses many genres of music and has entertained Detroit’s chapter of the NAACP, Pearls Music Awards, Slam It or Jam It and Give Me the Mic. Merci also performed the National Anthem on CNN for The Detroit Boxing team and was a local finalist for American Idol in 2002.

Merci’s inspiration comes from deep within her soul where she represents herself through her music. Her authentic sound matched with her original songwriting abilities and mixed with her live performances gives her an undeniable edge to be reckoned with. She has been compared to the sounds of Nicki Minaj, Evanesence and Christina Aguillera with the feel of Janet Jackson’s early albums. Merci is continually inspired by Tupac, Madonna, Sade, Teena Marie, and Linkin Park.

Merci spends her time performing live and writing her songs. She is currently signed to 6450 Music Group L.L.C. with her first album “Beautiful Chaos” scheduled to be released early 2012.
